What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

As we get older, due to overuse of the muscles in the face, fine lines and wrinkles begin to appear and eventually set in for good. This process can start from your late 20’s as collagen starts to deplete.

Anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking the nerve signals that allow the muscles to move. By temporarily paralysing this muscle, the muscle is no longer overworked and those lines that were once there become softer and/or disappear. The effect of anti-wrinkle injections depend on the type of wrinkles that are present. For lines that are dynamic which move during expression, these lines will not be present whilst the muscle remains paralysed. For lines that are static which are there all the time. The appearance of these lines can become softer and create a smoother appearance and whilst this muscle is paralysed, it prevents those lines from getting worse.

Areas that can be treated……

Forehead lines, frown lines and crows feet (around the eyes).
