What is Tattoo & SPMU Removal

Fade or Remove Unwanted Ink Safely and Effectively

Tattoos and semi-permanent make-up can often represent a different chapter in life. Whether your style has changed, the pigment has faded unevenly, or you are preparing for a cover-up, laser tattoo removal offers a safe and effective solution.

At The Qlinic, we use advanced medical-grade laser technology to target unwanted pigment within the skin. The laser energy breaks the ink into tiny particles, allowing the body's natural processes to gradually eliminate them over time. Treatments are tailored to your individual tattoo, skin type and desired outcome, whether your goal is complete removal or fading in preparation for new artwork.

How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

Laser energy is selectively absorbed by the tattoo ink beneath the skin. This energy shatters the pigment into microscopic particles, which are then naturally processed and removed by the body's lymphatic system over the weeks following treatment.

The number of sessions required varies considerably between individuals and depends on several factors, including:

  • The age of the tattoo

  • Ink colour and density

  • Professional versus amateur application

  • Tattoo location on the body

  • Skin type

  • Layering or previous cover-up work

Because every tattoo responds differently, complete removal cannot always be guaranteed. However, significant fading is often achievable, making laser treatment an excellent option for those seeking either removal or preparation for a cover-up tattoo.

BOOK A FACE TO FACE CONSULTATION

This treatment will require a consultation and a patch test before your first session. Please choose the Face to Face consultation option, on booking there will be a short form to complete. If we need any further information we will be in touch

What to Expect During Treatment

Following your consultation and patch test (48 hours prior), your treatment will be carried out in our dedicated laser treatment room.

The area will be cleansed and cooled before treatment begins, and you will be provided with protective eyewear throughout the procedure. During treatment, the laser is passed methodically across the tattoo, delivering short pulses of energy to the pigment within the skin.

Many clients describe the sensation as similar to the snapping of an elastic band against the skin. Following treatment, the area will be cooled again, soothing aftercare products applied and a dressing placed if required.

Any discomfort generally subsides within 24 hours.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Tattoo removal is a gradual process, and the number of sessions required varies significantly from person to person.

While some tattoos respond quickly, others require a longer treatment course. Sessions are typically spaced several weeks apart to allow the body sufficient time to clear fragmented ink particles and to ensure optimal healing between appointments.

During your consultation, we will provide an honest assessment and discuss the factors likely to influence your individual treatment journey.
