Dermal Filler

What is Dermal Filler?

Dermal Filler or Facial Filler is a great treatment to help restructure, re-volumise and balance the facial profile. The main component of filler is Hyaluronic Acid, this is a naturally produced substance which is found within the connective tissues of the skin. It helps provide the skin with structure, volume and hydration.

As part of the natural ageing process, we lose volume within the face. The face starts to sag and lines start to appear. By injecting Hyaluronic Acid into targeted areas, this will replace the volume that has been lost and help restructure, define and volumise. The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles can be improved and it will ultimately give you a more defined, rejuvenated and youthful look.

Areas that can be treated……

Nasolabial fold (creases that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth)

Marionette lines (lines from the mouth to the chin)

Perioral lines (vertical lines around the mouth, also known as smokers lines)

Chin Augmentation & Dimple Removal

Cheek Augmentation

Jaw Line Contouring

Nose Tip Lift

Dermal filler is suitable for adults over the age of 18, however not all adults are suitable. A medical assessment will be carried out prior to treatment with contra-indications including:

- Diabetes

- Active Infections

- Taking immunosuppressants

In some cases we may still be able to treat you, however this will be discussed within a consultation. We may also be able to offer an alternative treatment at The Qlinic, more suited to you.

How does it feel?

Lidocaine cream is used to numb the area. Some people say it is painless, with others feeling a slight discomfort on the first few injections with it subsiding afterwards.

How many sessions are required?

1 session is usually required however the amount of product used is dependent on the client goals and facial structure. If you have a large amount of volume loss or very deep lines that require treating, this is a factor that is associated with how much filler is required. This will be discussed within your consultation.

Is it permanent?

You will need to allow 2 weeks for treatment to heal for your final results however results are instant. Please bear this in mind when booking your treatment in case you have any important events planned to allow time to heal. Maintenance treatments can be had 12-18 months after initial treatment, this is based on an individual basis and dependent on how fast your body metabolises the filler.
